The Friends of Larkrise has a Grant Fundraising Sub-Committee that submits grant applications to help raise funds for additional school equipment, supplies, and activities.

Some projects we have successfully funded include:

  • a gamelan (Indonesian percussion orchestra) workshop for all children at the school;
  • library improvements;
  • micro:bits and robotics/electronics equipment for coding classes;
  • an outdoor school hall to promote more learning outdoors and increase the time children spend outdoors;
  • new benches for the Forest School area;
  • new wellie cupboards for each classroom.

The main fundraising goals for the 2022-2023 year will be funding large infrastructure improvements to the playground areas.

In the coming year, we are to submit applications throughout the year to raise funds for projects that improve the school facilities and inspire our children to engage with the curriculum, like:

  • playground improvements;
  • science shows;
  • science equipment or supplies to improve the range of activities the school can run;
  • excursions to museums and local historical sites;
  • drama workshops;
  • poetry workshops; and/or
  • theatre visits to see a play.
