A small group met online on 7 February to discuss plans for Larkfest, which will be after school on Friday 24th June, from 3.15 – 6pm.
We would welcome people to join this informal group, so if you enjoyed Larkmas, and would like to be more closely involved in shaping our summer event, then please do get involved. We will be at the Year 6 cake sale on 4th March if you’d like to learn more over an in-person chat after school, and we are having our next planning meeting on 7th March from 8-9pm (meet.google.com/csc-jwir-sxi).
Ideas and “asks” so far
- we’d like to run more Covid-sensible catering ourselves to raise more money, including a BBQ. Do we have any BBQ enthusiasts out there who can loan us their BBQ and (with our support) coordinate a BBQ crew? We can raise loads more money if we cater ourselves
- our focus is on offering more of the type of activities/games the kids seemed to really enjoy at Larkmas such as Splat the Rat and the Tombola. More creative ideas very welcome! Perhaps a Hook a Duck (upcycling some neglected bath toys?), Welly tossing, Coconut shy etc. Could you take an idea for an activity on and run with the preparation side, if we source you some volunteers to run it on the day?
- do you know a business that might donate prizes to our raffle? Could you spare some time to help coordinate raffle donations?
- More ideas very welcome – contact Rose at eventsFOL@larkriseprimary.org to get involved.
Thanks!
